About this Death Cafe

Death Cafés are a great way to start the difficult conversation of death and dying. They are also a great way to improve the sense of community around us.

The hope is that age and gender do not matter. If we can start the conversation with older and younger generations, children as well, maybe the concept and reality of death will become less taboo and easier to talk about.

At this free event, we will have tea and sweet treats, with a conversation driven by you.

About Norse Ridge Services

About Kathryn Murphy

As a Canadian Armed Forces member, I was fortunate enough to work with diverse populations with varying health projections throughout my many job opportunities in work as a Registered Nurse. These experiences, within the many different civilian institutions I have worked, have increased my awareness that our public health care system in Canada is surely lacking.

Now, as a recent veteran, I am experiencing first hand, what it is like to navigate this difficult, policy-ridden system, that prevents our wonderful health care providers from doing their job effectively. I find myself asking, "WHY?!"

Why must Canadians struggle with their chronic and terminal health concerns... AND the health care system?

Health care has never been easy; it is a different language entirely from what we speak. Now, newer policies make it more difficult to access services, as we move to online platforms. With today's changes to communication, it is becoming more difficult to schedule your life without a computer.

As I continue on my journey of transitioning back into the civilian sector, I hope to be able to help you navigate your journey; through health care and end of life issues. As an End-of Life Coach and Educator, I help people to live again, during a vulnerable and painful time.

I am an advocate and research-assistant, a companion for health care appointments, a guide and an added support.
